A licensed professional engineer, with over 20 years of combined experience in the fields of structural and forensic engineering.

As a structural engineer, Mr. Alvarez has designed, retrofitted, and inspected numerous residential, commercial, and industrial facilities, prepared construction documents, and provided construction administration and special inspections for high rise restoration projects.

As a Forensic Engineer, he has been retained as the lead testifying expert for multi-million construction defect claims for high-rise condominium towers, multi-story parking garages, and other structures involving structural failure, post-tensioning, building envelope, and failure of other building components.

He has performed hundreds of cause and origin evaluations related to property insurance claims associated to catastrophic events (wind, flood), moisture intrusion, plumbing failure, and vibration, between others, and has participated in multiple premise liability and code compliance investigations.

A licensed professional engineer with combined experience in the fields of forensic and structural engineering, providing consulting services primarily to building owners, property management companies, law firms and developers.

His forensic engineering practice has been focused on the analysis, repairs, and retrofit of structural components, milestone inspections and recertifications, property condition assessments, turnover reports, and causation and remediation of moisture intrusion damage.

Mr. Borge has been involved in numerous residential and commercial high-rise building restoration projects where he has performed building envelope (roof, cladding, and fenestration components) and structural evaluations.

He has also prepared construction documents and provided construction administration and special inspection services.

Mr. Borge constantly works with attorneys, providing engineering support for litigation cases in representation of building owners, condominium associations, and developers, in construction defect related claims and property condition assessments.
